The expectation is that one of two battling factions

will come out of the meetings with firm control of the union's direction. It's about time.

It's been almost six months of working without a film and TV contract, and things have not

been headed in a good direction. Last month, after a year of rancorous talks with producers and a failed attempt at federal mediation,

SAG's leadership announced that they would send out ballots for a strike authorization on January 2nd.

But while you were tearing open Christmas presents and getting smashed on New Year's Eve,

some 1900 SAG members, including George Clooney, Russell Crow, and Tom Hanks, were going public with their great displeasure with the whole strike thing.

So, the Guild's leadership announced a hold on the strike vote.
