| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Keto and Interminute Fasting Podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the |
| 0:08.7 | journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weights. |
| 0:29.3 | Today we're going to talk about the number one top food to greatly boost your co-enzyme Q10. Now, what is co-enzyme Q10? Well, it's a co-enzyme, which is a little different than an enzyme. So it's a helper |
| 0:35.8 | enzyme. Well, what does it help with? Well, it helps to make |
| 0:39.2 | your energy currency in your body called ATP. And this occurs in the energy factory called the |
| 0:46.0 | mitochondria. So co-enzyme Q10 is intimately involved in making ATP or energy. It's involved in |
| 0:53.6 | maintaining that ATP or energy. And it's also involved in |
| 0:58.9 | reducing the byproduct that occurs when you make that energy, which is like oxidative stress, |
| 1:06.3 | free radical damage. So it's a very powerful antioxidant. So it'll be equivalent to a specialized gasoline in |
| 1:12.8 | your car that would not give you any exhaust, exhaust being the oxidation, the frivolatical damage. |
| 1:20.3 | So the reason why we need so much co-enzyme Q10 in our heart is because that is the part of the |
| 1:26.2 | body that generates the most energy out of |
| 1:29.1 | any part. I mean, it has to generate a lot of energy. And it's constantly beating 24-7. It never |
| 1:35.5 | really relaxes. And so you need this specialized co-enzyme to maintain that energy. And because it |
| 1:43.4 | produces all the energy, it comes with a lot of exhaust. |
| 1:45.9 | So we also need to clean that up as well. So that's why coenzyme Q10 is so important. |
| 1:50.9 | And so a lot of people take it for the cardiovascular function and they get more energy from it. |
| 1:56.1 | It helps them lower blood pressure. And I'm going to tell you why. Because coenzyme Q10 supports the blood vessel |
| 2:03.0 | to the heart, as in the endothelial function. It also helps maintain the capacity of energy |
| 2:08.8 | to keep your energy in the heart at a certain level. So it doesn't dip down because if there's a |
| 2:14.5 | lowered level of energy than the heart, then your blood pressure is going |
| 2:18.8 | higher and higher and higher as a way to compensate and increase more pressure and volume to make |
