And in 2008, I probably lost 85% of my net worth.

Now I'm having to tell my wife and kids, we're selling the houses, we're selling your cars. We've got to survive. We've got to manage our business. And we picked up everything we had and moved back to Dallas from San Antonio. Troy Eckerd is the CEO of Eckerd Enterprises. After facing a major market crash and early failures in drilling ventures,

he turned setbacks into long-term success in oil, gas, and wealth management.

Building a portfolio of over $1.1 billion, over 8,500 wells and delivering more than $180 million

in investor returns and still growing. How bad was it at its peak negative position? Well, I had a group about seven different other entrepreneurs I was friends with seven out of the eight of us never made it back on the minimum. We just closed a $120 million deal with this last week. My first thought as soon as we just closed out, I go, what's next? What are we buying? What are we doing? You could literally take away all my assets today, just 61 years old. I'll have a million dollar business in 24 months.

When I hear somebody says, I want to be rich, it's guaranteed failure. But if you talk to somebody who truly wants to be successful, they say, I want to solve a problem. Entrepreneurs have gotten lazy. Give your money to a financial planner. Give your money to hear, do this, do that, buy Bitcoin. You're investing in things they have no clue about. They're investing for all the wrong reasons, and yet they're still doing it.
