We're gonna be talking about that time when there was aggregate qualifying. It's quite difficult to say aggregate

It's aggregate aggregate which is when two things are added together correct to make a time

But before we go into that let's talk about qualifying in general when how it kind of developed before

2005 in 2003 we had one lap qualifying being introduced

Dan, what did they have kind of before that?

Well for years the qualifying was basically the same between an hour session on the Friday an hour session on the Saturday

Whichever times were the fastest would set the grid then from 96

It went down to an hour session where each driver had 12 laps

Including out and in laps so it would be four laps basically to set the grid

Which was really exciting at the end of sessions
