Jaxson Dart is now the full-time starting quarterback for Ole Miss moving forward.

Granted, he got the nod in three of the team’s first four games, and he was a headline-grabbing transfer addition out of USC in the off-season, so maybe his eventual elevation isn’t much of a surprise. Still, his numbers to this point don’t jump off the page.

The Rebels next host Kentucky Saturday in a matchup of undefeated, Top 15 teams. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.

But don’t be fooled by the stat sheet. As Nick Suss (Clarion-Ledger) explains in this That’s Suss! edition of Talk of Champions, we’ve kind of undervalued Dart’s success thus far.

Time for a fair assessment.

Additionally, the guys, including Ben Garrett of the Ole Miss Spirit/On3, may have identified a problem. Ole Miss hasn’t been able to rely much at all on any home-grown wide receivers through two-plus seasons under head coach Lane Kiffin.

Also, is Kentucky the fulcrum point for the 2022 season?
