That is Jim Cantoria, the weather channel, desperately clinging to a stop sign to avoid

being blown down the street as he is battered with branches coming off the trees during

hurricane Ian at its height in Florida.

I'm watching somebody on CBS stand out there leaning up against the tree.

What are you doing out there?

Well not to get hung up on that, it's a time honored TV news classic.

Ian appears to be one of the worst disasters in Florida history.

Early assessments showed entire neighborhoods wiped out millions without power after their

hurricane struck land as a category four.

Power could be out for weeks thousands of people have called emergency line seeking

help.

It's devastating.

It's an enormous storm.

Ian continues to dump rain across a broad swath of Florida with forecasters warning of

quote life threatening catastrophic flooding in the central part of the state.

Now a tropical storm Ian moving into the Atlantic Ocean by late, well I guess tomorrow morning

yeah, and was expected to menace Georgia in the Carolinas on Friday.

Destroyed some of the main bridges that connect chunks of Florida together.

You may be familiar with them.

Both will require structural rebuilds according to governor DeSantis.
