that you did was wrong and you have to get beyond it.

When you apologize and use words along the line where you don't really apologize, like you say,

I'm so sorry you feel that way.

No, no, no.

Or if you say, I'm sorry if I upset you.

That does not really say, I'm sorry, does it?

I'm sorry, I upset you.

It puts it on the other person.

So that does not work.
