It's the Brian Mayer Show on W WNYC. Good morning everyone and happy Thanksgiving.

We have something for you today that we think you'll enjoy as you cook or travel to Grandma's house

or whatever you're doing this Thanksgiving morning.

This summer, as some of you know, we experimented

with a way to share advice on the show.

Many of you know we do advice segments

from time to time.

We've done health advice of various kinds, financial advice, parenting advice.

We sometimes play a game we call it Vice Roulette where callers chosen at random, ask each

other for advice on whatever, but for this advice series we partnered with

Jenny Desmond Harris who writes the advice column dear prudence for slate and hosts

their podcast of that name.

She's been a contributing writer for the New York Times,

often on advice-related topics, and other things too.

So we solicited letters from you Brian Lettcher show

listeners who were seeking advice about something and chose a few

listeners to try to help.

And we crowd source the advice too, taking calls from you are listeners whose expertise in life experience never

fail to enrich this program. So on this Thanksgiving we are bringing you the

series at least all we could fit into these two hours at very least you'll be reassured that you're not the only person with a

complicated family. So let's start here as I welcome dear prudence
