0:13.0	As we study the scriptures with Scott Pauley today,
0:16.0	we pray that God will help us learn how to develop grateful hearts and hopes.
0:29.1	In recent days, I have been so deeply convicted personally about how quickly I forget the goodness
0:37.0	of God. How easy it is for me to just let go by the wayside,
0:42.4	all of the blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon my life. And I must tell you that that is a very
0:48.2	dangerous thing. It's not only dangerous because we fail to give God praise, though he's worthy
0:53.1	of that, it's also dangerous
0:54.8	because of what it leads to. You see, when you and I begin to be ungrateful for God's goodness,
1:02.0	it leads to evil. When we fail to realize how good God has been to us, that is the garden in which
1:09.6	so many evil things grow. That's why gratitude is the one
1:14.5	thing that will help you not only to get right with God, it will help you to stay right with God.
1:20.0	I'm convinced of that. And so I bring you to a verse today that will teach us this truth. It's Romans
1:25.6	chapter 2 and verse number 4, where the apostle Paul
1:28.6	writes, or despises thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long-suffering,
1:36.2	not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance. What is he saying here?
1:47.4	He's saying that when we forget how good God has been,
1:49.2	how much he's put up with,
1:52.4	and how long-suffering he has been with us,
1:54.3	we're in dangerous position.
1:55.7	We're on dangerous ground.
