Hello and welcome to what is essentially a huge thank you and a farewell and a wrap up

of George Ezra and friends season one. I know I touched on it before and why I started the podcast

I'm in a really fortunate position whereby I'm signed to a large record label so once I've written

and recorded the record that I want to put out there's this infrastructure around what I do

and there's the radio team and the TV team there's the internet team the worldwide web there's

the marketing team you know and there's so many conversations to be had and so much guidance and

you know help at my hands which is amazing but what that also means is that I've never been involved

in a project that relies solely on myself getting up and doing it you know. A lot of what goes into

you hearing the music that I've written and recorded is of course kind of above my skill set you know

outside of it and so I wanted a project that I had to rely on myself for and the podcast was the

perfect outlet because I genuinely fascinated by music and pop culture and why we do what we do

and yeah I've found the whole process more inspiring than I thought it was going to be. If I'm

honest I thought the podcast was going to be a lot sillier like my first idea of it was that I

would kind of sit down and it would be a lot more I don't know foolish maybe and then it was so

apparent to me even after recording one how much I was genuinely interested in why people do what

they do. The first episode that I recorded for this series was with Charles Martin that shows you

I went to Abbey Road and sat down I was nervous man and yeah and then the night after that Hannah

Reed from London Grammar came round and you know after those two I was really like I get it more

the whole thing made more sense to me after those two because you know it kind of offered itself

up as this thing and it had panned out differently so how I had imagined and yeah I just you know

to finish on such an amazing run so to have Lily Allen and Sam Smith and Elton John a part of

the show is just you know the Elton John thing in particular is very hard for me to get my head
