Guaranteed human. I had family in for the holidays.

And over the holidays, we were, I was talking about the Rob Reiner situation with my wife.

And Indy asked, he was like, what are you guys talking about?

And I started to explain what had happened. And I just started sobbing in the kitchen. I just, I couldn't, I couldn't explain it to Indy. And then I was like, you know what, let's have a Rob Reiner film festival with family. And so we in one day watched four Rob Reiner films.

And it was the greatest, greatest tribute to this man.

Like, I mean, besides Spielberg, I cannot think of a more influential director in my life.

And to share that with Indy, Zemeckis is huge too. Yeah, but, man, like, when you look at the run of films from 19, it's insane. It's insane. Like, and so we started with Spinal Tap. We watched that, of course. We didn't get into When Harry Met Sally because he was not to do. Alex is not happy about that. No, Alex was not happy. No. And how do you not put when Harry and Sally in their song? It's not as a romance,

you know?

He's not there yet. But he's really into horror, so we watched Misery, which is incredible. Oh, it's so good. Yeah, you know, there's just that run. I mean, obviously stand by me is like probably the most influential film in my life.

And it was just a beautiful day.

Ended with him and me watching Princess Bride. obviously stand by me as like probably the most influential film in my life. And it was just a

He had already seen Princess Bride, but now he just was dying with laughter. And man, just what a,

you know, like just one an incredible director. And I, you know, he's in, like, I also had this realization, like, of course, he started on a sitcom, you know? Like, there's, the sitcom of the time. And like, I didn't know that because I never, never watched that show. Brilliant. So I came to his movies. All in the family. All in the family. Norman Lear. Oh, yeah. Brilliant. But I just think watching his movies, I think his, you know, besides his incredible ability to

pick the best material out there, which is just legendary, all the scripts are so good.

He is by far the most subtle director in terms of like he's not doing crazy camera angles or insane

lighting or even like incredible sound design. The way that like somebody like Spielberg,

you kind of always feel their film making choices. You know, like they're very bold.

Rob Reiner, he lets the acting and the storytelling take precedence and the camera work and everything is secondary.

It's like a play.

Yeah.
