That was Republican Senator Roger Wicker, speaking after a national security adviser,

apparently accidentally added a journalist to a text chat on highly sensitive plans to strike Yemen.

The Trump administration has acknowledged the messages, which were sent over the non-government encrypted chat app, Signal.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegeseth denied that anyone was texting war plans.

But the journalist in question, Atlantic editor-in-chief

Jeffrey Goldberg, told CNN a different story.

I'm sitting in a Safeway parking lot, watching my phone, and realizing, oh my God, this might

be real. I think Pete Heggseth just sent this group actual targeting information, actual sequencing of an attack.

Spy chiefs who were also reportedly on the message chain are expected to face a grilling about it in the Senate today.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA director John Ratcliffe are due to testify at a worldwide threat hearing that was

scheduled before the story broke.
