We are harming trans kids right now.

It is happening.

We are responsible for that to the extent that we choose not to act.

But if we choose to act only on the very narrow terms in which they are being represented as in peril today,

then we are hiding in our shame at the fact that we have still not learned to build a world big enough

and strong enough to smile upon and say yes to the fact of what trans children want.

And for us to say that we want them in the world is to build that world for them
