I'm Chris Hayes, and it's Tuesday during a primary season, which means it is election night in America once again.

Tonight, the marquee race is that runoff in the Republican primary for Senate in Texas,

the one that pits incumbent center, John Cornyn, who's been in the Senate for nearly Senate in Texas, the one that pits incumbent Senator John Cornyn,

who's been in the Senate for nearly 25 years, against the scandal-plagued state attorney

general Ken Paxton. Basically, all outside observers understand that Paxton's almost certainly

the weaker candidate for the general election. He certainly carries a lot more baggage.

He has been endorsed, of course, by Donald Trump, who thinks that Cornyn is insufficiently loyal to him. Also,

he likes the fact, I think, that Ken Paxton is AG was one of the leading attorneys general
