Summary
Welcome to 2018. This podcast opens with Parrish and Norlander in disagreement over Kansas' future this season in the Big 12. They also talk up Texas Tech, then move on to Notre Dame's disastrous turn of events with Bonzie Colson no longer on the floor for at least eight weeks. As coincidence would have it, Norlander spent five hours with Mike Brey last week, so he has some insider information. GP and Norlander also touch on Kevin Stallings calling out Louisville's program -- in the middle of his team's game at Louisville. They wrap with their weekly Trae Young over/under game.

| 0:00.0 | Hey there, it's Gary Pertichett's Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018. Welcome back to the |
| 0:19.0 | Ion College basketball podcast. I got Matt Norlander here with me and quite a few interesting |
| 0:23.8 | things have happened in the sport of college basketball since the last time we talked |
| 0:27.2 | on Sunday afternoon. Notre Dame, All-American Bonzi Colson out for eight weeks, fractured |
| 0:32.1 | foot. That's not good for the fighting Irish. Kevin Stollings was roaming the sideline |
| 0:36.1 | cracking on Louisville scandal last night. So that's gotten a lot of attention. Tennessee |
| 0:40.3 | lost at home to Bruce Pearls, Auburn Tigers. So the Valls have gone from one of the best |
| 0:44.7 | stories in college basketball to O and two in the SEC. They might be settling in a little |
| 0:50.5 | bit closer to what we actually thought they were going to be in the preseason. We will |
| 0:53.5 | get to most of that, if not all of that in a bit. But I want to start with the big news |
| 0:58.1 | and the big news of course is Texas Tech beat cans this last night inside Allen Fieldhouse |
| 1:03.4 | beat cans this last night by a double digits. And it appears that the J Hawks at 13 year |
| 1:09.0 | run of big 12 titles is in serious jeopardy. I said last week on this Ion College basketball |
| 1:14.6 | podcast from a patio in Florida that if you offered me the field or Kansas in the big 12 |
| 1:20.1 | race, I take the field and I'm even more sure that today than I was then. But norland |
| 1:25.2 | I read your column. You're still on canvas. You still think they're going to be able to |
| 1:28.0 | get this done. I am not picking against Kansas to win the big 12 until it doesn't win the |
| 1:33.3 | big 12. That's fine. But you recognize what's happened so far this season. What's happened |
| 1:39.1 | so far this season that they've lost three games. Three games that are essentially home |
| 1:45.5 | games. I know the one against Washington wasn't in Allen Fieldhouse, but it's like basically |
| 1:52.6 | a home game. It's been funny on Twitter watching Kansas fans try to explain how Kansas City |
| 1:57.1 | isn't really an advantage for Kansas. I'm like, get out of here. Like listen, it's not |
