Here we go, boys and girls. Good evening. Once again. I am Stephanie Rule. We are now 161 days away from the midterms. And tonight is one of the biggest primaries of all. It is the Republican Senate runoff in the state of Texas between incumbent Senator John Cornyn and

challenger Ken Paxson. And it turned out to be not very much of a race at all. Paxson is

officially projected to win with more than 63% of the vote. Cornyn, a mainstream Republican who is

seeking his fifth term against state attorney general Ken Paxton, a diehard MAGA candidate

with a history. And I'm saying this in the most PG version imaginable, a history of scandals.

In the final days of the race, President Donald Trump enthusiastically endorsed Paxton.

The winner will now face Democratic nominee James Tellerico, who has

seen as a rising star in the party. In the last hour, Telerico spoke with our colleague

Lawrence O'Donnell about the race. Watch this. Ken Paxton embodies the broken political system

that we're running against. He is the most corrupt politician in America.

Three years ago, tomorrow, he was impeached by his own party for using his public office,

his position of public trust to enrich himself and his donors at our expense. And that is exactly

the problem in our politics. It's puppet politicians

who serve themselves and their billionaire mega donors instead of serving us. It's why we can't

afford anything. It's why we can't get ahead no matter how hard we work. The system is rigged by

corrupt politicians like Ken Paxson.
