There's an epic showdown here, of course, two top 10 teams.

I know you're about to travel to go to the game, so again, thank you for making the time. But before

we get into the Michigan talk, I just wanted to ask you, any surprises or biggest standouts

from week one, beating Colorado Colorado State 52 to 0?

Well, Texas did not allow 100 yards passing.

And a year ago, Mike, they were in the 100s when it comes to past defense.

And this off season, Steve Sarcizia went out and hired Arizona's co-defence. and

Steve Sarchesia went out and hired Arizona's co-defensive coordinator from a year ago

excuse me Johnny Nanson and what Nanson is brought with him to Pete Kutowski, the other co-defence coordinator at Texas,

is he's brought a multiple defense.

I mean, Texas played a lot of the game against Colorado State in a dime package, just a base dime.

With a lot of versatility, there were a lot more slanting along the defensive line than a year ago, a lot more pre-snap movement.

So Nanson has brought Texas some different looks and as we know Arizona had a really good defense a year

ago they are the one team in the pack 12 that really stymied Washington for

example and so there's a little bit of that going on maybe more than I gave

credit to in the preseason his impact on the Texas defense. We'll see what that means anything at all

when Michigan lines up and tries to run the ball down your throat,
