Texas A&M head baseball coach leaves for in-state rival Texas one day after losing the College World Series

Now I've got no problem with the coach or anyone taking a new job, even if it's with a rival or

direct competition, but there is a right way and a wrong way to do it.

Now former Texas A&M baseball coach, Jim Schlachnagel,

if I said that right, admonished a reporter

for asking if he had any interest in taking the Texas job right after they lost the game three of the College World Series.

He said, and I quote, I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M.

I took the job at Texas A&M.

I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again.

Well, he then proceeded to immediately take the Texas job.

Now he could have said now wasn't the time to talk about something like that or I have a team that's hurting I need to be with them

but he didn't. I didn't agree with it the way that Tommy Tuberville did it when he said the only way he's leaving

old Mrs in a pine box or when Nick Savant said I am definitely not taking the Alabama job.

And this is one reason why it's so hard to defend trying to put restrictions or guidelines on the transfer portal.

Coaches who blatantly lie about their intentions, instead of just dodging the question,

are one of the main reasons the transfer portal
