Pat, big news, some expected news as well.

We kind of anticipated this since the spring.

Deontra Hopkins, massive contract extension.

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

By far the biggest thing that's happened to me this week.

So it's hard to focus on anything else,

as you can maybe imagine.

Well, I'm giggling Pat because you had some other big life news that you have alluded to in the past.

You became a father for the third time.

So you know, I'm from the real Irish Catholic Midwest where it used to be like eight kids was viewed as like a small

family. So we're trying to like hearken back to our roots and, you know, I have a third child beautiful little Anna Lee Darty born on

Sunday afternoon so yeah I mean kidding aside it's amazing disorienting, you know, very frightening, but it's going to be great.

People have been making fun of me for not timing it well.

You know, week one of the NFL season for someone who makes a living as a full-time football writer.

This is the first two we're born in late May and early July.

We time those ones too well.

So at some point, you know, you can't stay ahead of the law forever.

Just kind of plan this year to have a vacation during May and June,

and then look what happened, the world worked against you,

so you're like, I'm going to shove it right back in your face, man,

and have a child right before football season.
