0:56.0 | So there was an article last week in the England Journal that got a lot of press, which was looking at whether testosterone is basically safe in older men. |
1:09.0 | And to sort of pull back on the topic, you know, a low |
1:13.5 | androgen states is something real. There are men who have very low androgen levels because |
1:19.9 | testicular problems or problems with their pituitary or hypothalamus, and those people need to be |
1:26.1 | treated. And then there's this group of men who have been treated for the last 10, 15 years with |
1:33.3 | testosterone for what seemed to be really low normal testosterone levels, no clear reason |
1:42.3 | that their testosterone is low, but the idea that, well, you know, |
1:46.0 | maybe treating them will make them feel better because testosterone, we think, helps a lot of things. |
1:51.0 | It makes people more energetic, gives them more muscle mass, makes them happier. |

2:01.6 | And part of the debate has been, well, is it safe to give someone who's got fairly normal testosterone levels extra testosterone? |
