The Thank you so much, Angela, for having me on your podcast. It's been such a blessing to hear how God is working so miraculously in everyone's lives. And I've been following along with you from the beginning. And I've loved seeing your growth. And I grew out of cessationism around the same time you did as well.

I grew up in a loving Christian household.

I grew up going to church, reading the Bible, just loving God, loving Jesus.

I remember in my early elementary school years, just being in the back of the car and praying that God would keep me for the rest of my life. And I believe

that he heard that prayer and he was faithful, even though I was unfaithful. I grew up going to church,

but I don't think I fully understood the gospel. I didn't understand why we do good things

and why we avoid sin.

I would read the Bible and I knew that there were verses basically saying,

if you do these things, these people go to hell.

And so I kind of had a legalistic mindset growing up where I was kind of trying to earn my salvation or I was lukewarm and saying,

well, I know that there's grace. So what does it matter if I sin? So I didn't understand and

or fully grasp why we avoid sin and why we do good things. And I didn't realize that I didn't know that.
