For a couple of decades, the only way to make a Prius go fast off the line was to do a

break stand everywhere. True. I figured this out and decided to drive Prius. I ever

Prius, we ever drove. Yes. I would have the gas pedal flat to the floor and just modulate

my speed with a break. Never let your foot off the gas. You were rally driving a Prius

everywhere. All the time. But you don't need to do that anymore. That's true.

Because this is the Prius Prime that has the most horsepower I think that any Prius has ever had.

By far, well here's the thing. This is the fifth generation Prius which we actually like and we

have reviews of that coming as well. This has got 220 horsepower now. The non-prime version,

the prime version if you don't know means it is a plug-in hybrid. This has 44 miles of electric

range which is a significant all-electric range. It plugs in. It will run all EV for a bit.

genuine power genuine power genuine, genuine ability to pass people zero to 60 is now down to six

and a half seconds here which is impressive. But this is 20 more horsepower than the fifth

gen Prius of every other kind which is either 194 or 196 horsepower depending on whether you

got front wheel drive all wheel drive. Right. Right. Interesting thing for me about the

prime though is it's not being offered in anything other than front wheel drive.

So the most powerful Prius is coming front wheel drive only with no plans from Toyota to make

an all wheel drive. And what's funny is because it's an electric motor with that all-electric power,

you can overwhelm these front tires. Now you don't have to do that. You can just do it.

I'm ready to overwhelm your prime to be aligned and ready to get after it. Come on.
