Genesis GV70, we haven't driven this yet on camera. We had the GV80, we liked it a whole lot.

This is the smaller, like, Macon-sized competitor. It is a Macon fighter, definitely.

And it does very good. It is. This is so good that I'm going to start getting picky.

Oh, really?

Because I decided to dig down on the things that I don't think are as good as they could be,

because on first impressions, it was phenomenal. And the more I drove it, the more I liked it.

I actually think if you're looking at a Macon, which is a high bar, you need to 100%

cross-shop the GV70 because it might win.

I think it will definitely win. And this from a Porsche guy, because the GV70 is so good,

it's not just the top of its class. I think this has set the benchmark for this size of SUV.

Whoa, okay. All right. This is the one everybody needs to chase.

But let's start with the styling.

The GV70, along with three other Genesis products, took honors in the transportation category

from the good design awards people for 2021.

Okay.

The Macon people didn't have to work hard, because they stood back and said,

you know what, it's sporty and athletic, and it looks elegant.

Let's go with athletic elegance. Instantly, just looking at this makes you think,

huh, there's something different about it. It must drive pretty well.

And that's this parabolic line that starts up at the hood and goes all the way to those rear fenders,

those muscular fenders, what you want is nice tension and contrast in your car design.

It's a vehicle design.
