Well, I got news for you. You're an idiot. Absolutely not. Obviously, everybody knows that,

0:04.8

especially the market knew that on Wednesday.

0:14.0

What's up, Aves? Welcome back to the Daily Peel's Daily Podcast of the Day. Thank you all for

0:18.2

joining us here once again on your favorite podcast in the entire world, and obviously the world's most popular podcast here. We appreciate you joining us on this beautiful Wednesday evening here. It is currently 6.53 p.m. on October 2nd, 2024. We got a lot to talk about here in markets today. I bet you thought that delivering about 460,000 vehicles would be more impressive

0:39.1

than delivering 88 vehicles. Well, I got news for you. You're an idiot. Absolutely not. Obviously,

0:44.5

everybody knows that, especially the market knew that on Wednesday. That's what we saw in the

0:48.6

share price performance from companies including Nikola and Tesla. And yes, I said that in that order

0:53.3

intentionally. Shout out to our boy Nikola Tesla for inventing the reason that I'm able to communicate with you over this shit. We also get a lot more going on. We got some previews for the jobs report that's going to be coming up tomorrow. Well, really on Friday, but you're going to be watching this tomorrow. So I'm going to act like Friday is tomorrow. Then, of course, we'll be finishing up with some new climate data that's impacting home purchases across the country zillow is getting

1:15.9

big on it and it was completely fucking over some insurance company so we'll talk about exactly what's

1:20.6

going on there but before that we got a couple of things to dive into first and foremost so the

1:25.8

w so alpha portfolio our proprietary in-house trading portfolio,

1:30.4

lost about 46 basis points on the session here today. Absolutely disgusting, horrific performance.

1:36.2

I'm extremely disappointed in the team over there, even though I just fired everybody and

1:40.5

rehired everyone once again. So, you know, sending your applications if you want to be an ape and you're not an idiot and know how to pick stocks that actually go up. But the portfolio was actually down about 46 basis points for the session here today. Are really, we only had a couple of winners on the day. InVIDIA led the way and obviously when Nvidia leads, markets are going to outperform us because we have a lower weighting to in video. And's why the S&P 500 Rose and Measley little one basis point on the session. The NASDAQ was up eight basis points and not that anybody cares, but the Dow was up nine basis points. Meanwhile, the Russell 2000 and small cap stocks lost about 14 basis points for the session here today. In addition to in video, Autodesk, Airbnb, Apple were some of our big leaders here, but I really shouldn't be saying this because you should go subscribe to the alpha portfolio if you want to see the rest of our holdings. All right, let's go ahead and get into some of these banana bits for the session here today. First inform us, you probably forgot this. I know I did, but Joe Biden is apparently still the president of the United States. I'm not too sure. You know, I'm sure there's a lot of ice cream being eaten. It seems like a lot of beach trips going on there, not to get political or anything. But the administration came out today and said that they have no plans to intervene in the current strike going on with the International Longshoremen's Association. They could use Taft Hartley to get a 90-day pause to the strike that's going on and allow goods to be imported into the United States. But even still at that point, unless a deal is reached, it's just going to be one quarter of kind of a band-aid over a bullet hole type of thing. What they need is a 77% wage increase in the banning of automation of any kind as it relates to dockwork or longshoremen work, which is

3:08.7

definitely not going to happen. So it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

3:12.2

Meanwhile, Open AI, they did just raise that $6.6 billion that everybody's been freaking out about

3:17.0

over the past couple of weeks. They did so in an even bigger valuation than most we're anticipating.

3:21.2

Now, we're expecting a 150 billion dollar valuation company actually

3:24.9

bumped that up to 157 billion dollars so that means that as of closing here today open

3:30.8

AI is slightly less valuable than comcast more valuable than AT&T and more valuable than Goldman Sachs

3:37.6

so absolutely insane numbers from this private company that lost $5 billion in

3:42.5

$20, or will lose $5 billion in 2024 on $3.7 billion in revenue. Impressively shitty numbers,
