nation's capital on this Wednesday. Pretty much everyone with one of those days off in the winter

that we get, I don't know, one, two, three times a winter where you get a storm big enough,

nasty enough. The timing of it is such that basically

everything shuts down, everything closes. And of course, you get all the people that grew up

elsewhere in the Midwest or the people that like to talk about what it was like when they were

younger who laugh at all the school closings and the way it used to be, you know, walking

five miles through blizzards to get to school way back in the day. No, you didn't. You didn't

walk five miles in a blizzard to get to school. Not if you lived around here. It's always been the

same around here.

Bad winter weather delays and closes in this city now and in the past.

I can remember many a day where school was either delayed or canceled with nothing but wet roads,

with the sun peeking through the clouds. All of you who grew up in D.C. or in the

immediate metro area counties, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, PG County, Howard County,

you remember it the same way. Many days where your parents were like, really, school was

shut down for this?

Today, though, actually, they got it right.

Snow that hit just at the start of rush hour and was going to continue for much of the morning into the afternoon,

mixing with sleet and freezing rain and all that.

It made sense today.

Today's one of those days that even if you grew up in the, actually not true, if you grew up in the Midwest or the Northern Plains, you're laughing at us on a day like today,
