Tennessee has a strength coach, Mr. Brown.

Not only does it have a strength coach, it has a national championship winning

strength coach. Yes, Ben, Derek Owings is, I think he flew straight from Miami on Monday night

on Tuesday morning to be in Knoxville and meet his new team and get started. Workouts will start

on Wednesday morning. And Tennessee hired a national

champion defensive coordinator back in December with Jim Nolz. And now they get a national

champion strength coach and Derek Owings. And it's a big move, Ben. I think that's how it has to be

looked at. I mean, this is a guy in Owings that had been with kurt signetti from his first season at james

madison and i think their record over the past six seasons was 64 and nine um it's pretty dang good

uh so uh this is a guy that behind the scenes it's been very important to what signetti has done i mean

uh you even go back to james. They were in, you know,

they made the FCS to FBS transition look really easy because they went to two, I think,

FCS semifinals, those for their final two seasons at that level and then jump right into the

Sunbelt and won two division titles. And certainly, A, continued to win after Kurt Cignity

went to Indiana.

And B, a bunch of those players went from that program to Indiana and helped them go 27 and two over the past two seasons, 16 and O.

So this guy is, he has been very successful.

He's been courted.

USC went after him last season, and Indiana gave him almost doubled a salary up to

I think $900,000 in Tennessee has locked him up on a three-year deal at $1.2 million a year,
