Dumpster diving has seen a rise in popularity over the last handful of years thanks to social media.

Content creators sharing videos of themselves going through the dumpsters of some of the biggest stores to see what they can find.

With some of the most viral of dumpster diving videos showing people finding working Apple products, high-end makeup designer clothes, all that had just been thrown away, all for free.

So imagine you're scrolling your FYP and you see some of these videos and you decide with a group of your friends to go try your luck dumpster diving at your local mall.

It's late at night.

It's the dead of winter.

It's cold.

And there you and your friends are digging through all of this garbage.

And as you're a dumpster diving, you open up a trash bag and inside you find a baby.

Yes, we just found a baby in the trash behind the, what is this, damn, anything straight,

the mall, a baby, we had just found an infant child.

He's still got his available recording, freezing cold. found an infant child. Um, he still got his available cord, and he's freezing cold.

It's already shocking to begin with, and then it got even more horrific when the officers

went over the security footage and saw that it was a high school student, an 18-year-old

girl named Alexis Avala that had thrown this baby in

Alexis Avala is the youngest of three children born on December 22nd, 2003 in Hobbes, New Mexico.

By all accounts, Alexis had a very normal upbringing. She had a normal family and was living a normal childhood until her teen years.

Alexis did not know it at the time, but she was living with undiagnosed and untreated bipolar

one disorder. So around age 14, some of these symptoms started to pop up. Alexis would have

really severe mood swings and she was angry a lot of the time.
