Hey everybody welcome to today's cold case murder mini. I'm your host Ryan Kraus bringing you your daily dose of madness, this time in the form of the incomparable Theodore Robert Bundy, who confessed in no fewer than 30 murders in the aftermath of a reign of terror from 1974 to 78 that plagued the western part of the country

and ultimately came to an end with his capture for unspeakable acts committed in Florida.

Now it goes without saying that Ted Bundy has achieved a level of public infamy tantamount to his desire to kill.

Evidence by the notion that the quantity of his victims is more likely in the range of 100 rather than 30.

Like many serial killers, there were some victims that Ted was going to keep secrets in the dark corners of his mind.

Like collectibles on a shelf.

Their value never greater than the sediment of their owner.

But this isn't what made Ted unique.

There were others who taunted, tortured, and terrorized to an extent they made Bundy look soft.

And when he finally ended up in court, while his antics were entertaining, he revealed himself as a seemingly

wimpy man who winds about everything.

So what is it that draws us to his story?

Despite the unforgivable sickening violence?

What is it that we see in Ted that inspires incredible intrigue?

But the greatest of caution, like visitors to the zoo watching gorillas pounding on the glass on the inches away.

Well, it's pretty simple actually.

Audacity. brazenness, charm. Combined, they form a cocktail

called confidence. But in the case of Ted Bundy, it's specifically two words.

Lake Sammish, this is where he cemented his legend.

This was the early Ted Bundy that could lower his beautiful prey with a magnetic personality and good looks.

Not the 1978 version, which was a strung out, aging fugitive trying to pick up girls half his age in a Florida

nightclub. No, by that time the murder was in his eyes, the blackness of death.
