But the world is pushing back.

And the companies that promise to govern themselves,

they're abandoning their own safety pledges. The Pentagon is threatening to blacklist the last one holding the line. For all the differences I have with Anthropic, I mostly trust them as a company, and I think they really do care about safety. I'm not sure where this is going to go. In the first two months of 2026, AI went from a chat bot that's helpful with writing

and research to an entire executive assistant, one that can take over your computer to

complete hours-long tasks, read and answer

emails, book travel, all reliably, accurately, and quickly.

What's happening is that AI just went through its third inflection.

The first one was two years ago with Chad GPT.

And then the second one was about a year ago when the reasoning AI agents came out.

And then now with these agentic systems, we're now having these agents able to reason, take task, and actually do work.
