1:03.7 | like accents and different like voices that I don't use anymore in like these recordings so now I take |
1:08.8 | them out on scam calls. But anyway I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's gotten these calls and how annoying they are. |
1:15.0 | And there's a whole slew of them. There's different varieties, different flavors to choose from. |
1:20.0 | In some, they're telling us that they're the IRS or Microsoft computer support or something, |
1:25.0 | or maybe how our car warranty has expired, or your student loan debt balance or something is not right, |
1:32.0 | or you know, you know what I mean there's just there's just so many but the question |
1:36.4 | here is where did they come from and why aren't they shut down because my |
1:40.1 | God are they annoying and if I could get to the bottom of it I would. |
1:43.7 | And that's pretty much the whole premise of today's episode is I want to know where the |
1:47.4 | hell these things came from and if there's a way to stop them. |
1:50.6 | So let's get into it. One of the most well-known scams, someone claiming to be Microsoft and calling to help with a computer has reportedly been around since as early as 2008. |
