You're listening to a special edition of TechTent on the BBC World Service with me, Shona McCallum,

where we're looking forward to what's to come in 2023. With me is my colleague Joe Tidy. Joe, you came onto the show last year

and made a prediction. What was it and were you right? Well, no, I'm going to be honest. So I predicted very kind of glass

half full that we would see the end of ransomware at scale. So these are the big cyber attacks

that, you know, cause massive problems in organisations and lock up systems and data.

And although we haven't seen the big sort of scale attacks we saw in 2021 against the US,

we have seen lots of attacks. They just haven't been in the US anymore. So all the criminals

have moved their attention to Latin America and other places. But I was listening to last year's

show. And interestingly, there are a few things that we kind of got right, but we're just a little

bit early on. So we said that 2022 would be the year of Web 3. That hasn't really happened, but it looks like it could

emerge again next year. And also, Shona, you predicted that Apple's AR glasses would arrive. Again,
