Since we last spoke about the U.S. presidential election a week ago when Joe Biden announced that he was withdrawing from the race,

current Vice President Kamala Harris has gone from strong contender to the clear unchallenged Democratic Party nominee for 2024.

While there's still plenty of runway left on the Biden administration itself, with only about 100 days until the election and 60

days until the first votes will be cast.

Now it really just seems like a good time to start discussing the fights that the left should

be prepared for under a Harris administration, particularly fights that must start sooner rather

than later, like how the campaign has so far tried to have it both ways on Palestine,

why it might be a mistake

to hold off on applying pressure to Democrats until after the elections settled, where we want to put

our political will and energy, do we want to throw efforts into preserving and improving empire

or into organizing and agitating to build a better world, to divest ourselves from settler colonialism and extractive

abandonment. And of course, all these conversations are happening everywhere right now. I'm sure

many of you listening have been a part of or engaged in thinking through this just in the last
