brand new national COVID-19 preparedness plan. And while I'm sure many listeners

know who you both are by now, I'm going to introduce each of you and then we can get right

into it. So Abby Cardis is a perinatal epidemiologist and a postdoctoral research associate at Brown

So on Wednesday, March 2nd, just as we were wrapping our last main feed episode called

Lying Like a State, which was recorded the morning after

the State of the Union address in which U.S. President Biden announced that we were entering

a phase of pandemic reset, not a new, but a sort of next normal.

And in that episode, we break down the faults in the new CDC community level risk alert system, which is key

to this new phase of normalization, as is the rolling back of masking recommendations, resulting

in both further abandonment of the vulnerable and a rejection of their social rights.
