Hello everyone and welcome to the Girls Camp podcast. I'm your host, Haley Rawl, and I am joined today by Robert Carpenter.

If you don't recognize Robert by name, I would guess you will recognize his face because Robert is the guy that does the Mormon interviews, usually on BYU or BYU, Idaho, or sometimes UVU campus. You are the one who does,

would you rather unalive a puppy or take a sip of alcohol, tons of mega viral videos about

Mormon culture and kind of the weirdness and quirkiness of Mormon culture, particularly on

church campuses. Before we dive in, because I have so many questions for you, I do want to ask you

to give us just a brief overview where you're from, where you live now, and what you do if the

Mormon interview thing is your full-time gig. Yeah. So basically, I grew up in Chicago, outside of Chicago. And, you know, I went to university,

just graduated last spring. And the Mormon interviews, I stumbled upon by accident.

I flew out here to visit some of my friends. And I was bored. I'm like, there's nothing to do.

They don't like to party. I thought it would be partying and they weren't. How did you have friends in

Utah? So I went to high school with these two guys. I was like, let's go book a flight. Let's visit

my homies. So then you stumbled across the Mormons. You're here in Utah. You're bored.

There's not the partying you were hoping for. And you just went on to BYU campus one day and

started talking to people. Yeah. So I went on to campus. I wasn't really thinking about the BYU

angle or the Mormon angle. Because now, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is, that's your bread and

butter, at least, is interviewing Mormons. Basically, the whole year, I spent it trying other

formats, every single other interview format imaginable, except for Mormons. Nothing worked,

except for the Mormon stuff. This is my son to go back to Utah. Do you have any stories or

anecdotes that come to mind of the

craziest answers that you have ever gotten while interviewing Mormons? So earlier you mentioned

the sip of alcohol or unaliving a puppy. And what's crazy is, I remember this is back in

2023. I shot all my interviews for the day.
