What's happening with this consolidation of major media empires that have produced

some worthy, needed cultural moments in the hands of a proud libertarian who thinks Fox

News is journalism is a death knell, is one of the many nails in America's coffin

right now.

And speaking recently with a filmmaker who has done a lot of hard-hitting political

documentaries, he said to me, Discovery is such shit.

It's impossible to work with, and they don't want any political documentaries.

They don't want anything hard-hitting.

They want these low common denominator, trashy, opium type TV that just numbs people.

They don't want people to think.

It's part of this whole dumbing down of America campaign.
