Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Girls Camp Patreon, Girls Camp After Dark.

Or shall I say, welcome to the first annual general conference of the Girls Camp podcast,

presiding and conducting, and giving all of the talks today is me, your host, Haley Raw.

I decided we need to do a general conference

Patreon episode because today is general conference. And I just could not resist putting out

my own little girls camp general conference. So instead of listening to actual general

conference today, we can dunk on and laugh about and see that

things said in general conferences past and just the whole ordeal that is an LDS general conference.

I dug into the archives and we have much to snark on when it comes to things that have been said and done during

general conference, as you can imagine. Because this is kind of the time for the Mormonism to shine,

for the main leaders of the church to get up and say what they're going to say. And as we know,

oftentimes when they have the mic, they are going to

say problematic things, silly things, or at best, my biggest read of general conference generally

is that at best, it's mediocre TED talks with a religious spin, in my humble opinion. Now, as an ex-Mormon adult,

I tend to just kind of ignore general conferences happening. That's been less possible for me now that I

talk about Mormonism on the internet, because it's just more in my sphere sphere. Like I'll see ex-Mormon creators posting

about what's being said or, you know, obviously see a Mormon family or friends posting about

quotes or that they're watching or whatever. There's oftentimes more Mormons out and about

posting about the church during general conference weekend, as they are

encouraged to do. I like to kind of pretend that it's not a thing. It's not like any big

milestone for me anymore, but I do like to get myself a cinnamon roll on general conference
