Hello everyone and welcome to the Girls Camp podcast Patreon Girls Camp Unplugged. It is me,

your host, Haley Rawl, and we have a lot to talk about. I randomly, not even intentionally,

but I have consumed a lot of Mormon or Mormon adjacent media this week that I have been

taking notes on because it is bringing up a lot of things

for me. I have a lot of thoughts and opinions on these things that I want to share with you.

The first one being Heather Gay's surviving Mormonism docu series. It is a three-part docu-series.

It actually came out, I think, a couple months ago maybe, and I've just been dragging my feet

on watching it.

And I think that's because it is a very heavy subject matter.

I could tell from the name and from the trailer.

And I finally watched that.

I actually finished that today.

Wow.

I also watched the new Elizabeth Smart documentary called Kidnapped. It's on Netflix and really revisited the whole Elizabeth Smart story. Elizabeth Smart was Mormon at the time of her kidnapping. Her family

was Mormon from Utah. And I think there's a lot of Mormon stuff in her story, Mormon connections.

I also listened to Jeanette McCurdy on Call Her Daddy. She went on the Call Her Daddy podcast

to promote her new novel called Half His Age, which is somewhat

autobiographical. It's not autobiographical, but it's based on an experience she had with a

significant age gap relationship. After listening to her on that episode, which she also talked

about some Mormon stuff that I found really interesting, actually started the book,

Half His Age. And I'm about three quarters of the way through. It's not super Mormon specific,
