You know, I came from a very rural, very poor part of the country where most people

don't make it out.

And if they do, they just make it out to be, to work offshore or something like that.

And I had a very close friend who passed away over COVID, not of COVID.

He had a heart attack at age 40.

It was Blake Parker.

And he was a musical genius.

He taught me how to play hooky with the universe.

He, he was, and in some other era, he would have been like a guru or a shaman or something like that, but he had no place in the modern world.

And he should have, like he always think to myself like I made it

out of there but Blake is the one who should have made it out of there and

when he passed away his family asked me to do the eulogy and all the rest and

he was the middle of COVID.

We all just said, you know, fuck it.

Let's, if we get it, we get it.

And we had this interesting hybrid version of a Baptist funeral.

And then what Blake would have applied kind of funeral.

And these days when I think about like phoning it in or I think about taking

half measures or I think about giving into laziness or whatever, I think about how Blake

never got a chance to do any of the things that I'm getting to do right now. And that inspires me to stay engaged.

What's the best advice you've ever gotten?
