So our focus today is the new CDC guidelines cutting isolation and quarantine time down significantly.

On Monday, December 27th, the CDC announced via press release that they are shortening the recommended

isolation time from 10 days to

five days if the person who has COVID is asymptomatic. The CDC then recommended that for the

five days following their release from isolation, people who are asymptomatic should wear masks.

So basically, what that means is that if you test positive for COVID-19 on, say, you know, day zero, right?

Then for five days, you have to isolate. If on day six, you have no symptoms, the CDC says back

to work with a mask on. masking is, of course, to, quote, minimize the risk to others because the CDC

is actually very explicit about this,

that on day six, yes, you still could be likely infectious.

And they know that.

And they are saying that.

Nothing magical happens at day five.

Right.

Except, oh, wait a minute.

There is one magical thing that happens.

The economy reaches into your house and with its invisible hand pulls you out of the house.

Your gross domestic product needs you.

Yeah.

Well, and I think also contextually, it's important to note that over the holiday, the CDC was also pushing forth such lovely public messaging as

the ad, their little ad, which read, I'm not letting COVID-19 take my shifts.
