Summary

Charles McDonald is joined by Next Gen Stats' Keegan Abdoo to break down why some teams look like they're playing on All-Madden difficulty through three weeks of the NFL season. But first, the duo jump around the funniest stories to come out of the weekend, including the hysteria around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce (and her chicken fingers), the comically low ticket prices for the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos game this weekend and Josh McDaniels' awful field goal decision on Sunday night. Next, Charles and Keegan give their biggest takeaways from Week 3. Keegan explains Next Gen Stats' new metric pressure probability and how it tied into the high number of blowouts this week, Charles highlights the Houston Texans and C.J. Stroud and the duo discuss the Miami Dolphins' high-flying offense scoring 70 points. Later, Charles and Keegan discuss the teams who look like they're playing on All-Madden difficulty and why: the New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars.

this season. It's been three weeks starting to get some more data points on what's going on.

We can figure out what teams are struggling in and what areas because now we have some trends to look at.

So we're going to get into it with my good pal, Keegan Abdu, from next gen stats,

and then all the way we go.

All right, we're back, exemplars. The third week that we're doing this over here at Yahoo Sports,

We're going to get into midi-gritty. We're going to have some laughs. We're going to poke some

funds at teams along the way. To do that, I've got my friend Keegan Abdu with me, next gen stats,

0:54.9

NFL, Keegan, how are you doing today, man? I'm doing well. It's a little bit less sleep than I'd

1:01.2

want in week three already, but we're powering on and hopefully as we get a little bit more

1:07.6

accumated into our workflow, start to get to cut down those hours on the weeks, we'll see.

1:14.8

Just to give you some credibility, can you tell people what you do over at next gen stats?

1:19.6

Sure. So I'm a manager of data analytics at next gen stats. What I work on is we are

1:27.6

main responsibilities in season are working with broadcast crews. We provide them these big

1:34.9

research packets before the game, kind of breaking down the matchup from a next gen stats

1:38.4

perspective, and then we're working with them in game to get our stats within the flow of the

1:43.4

broadcast as much as possible and add context to the broadcast as well. So that's our main

1:51.0

responsibilities in the offseason. We build cool models like pressure probability,

1:55.3

give the tease that a little bit, build dashboards that are media clients within the NFL, all the

2:02.1

broadcast partners can access both live for live data and for their own pregame research.

2:09.2

That's a pretty important job. So that would ever you see next gen stats on a broadcast. You say,
