We're doing that work of educating the next generation younger and younger, and there's just a level of compassion in this generation that makes me super optimistic for the future.

If the women athlete community starts to band together and really tackle that, I'd be really curious to see how much change and meaningful change we could create.

Today on the show, we're talking to a pair of remarkable people in the women's game,

two of the founding members of the Black Women's Player Collective and shining examples of environmental advocacy, Jasmine Spencer and Amani Dorsey-Kunsfeiler.

In 2020, when the country was reckoning with the murders of innocent black people and the injustices

of a very flawed system, a group of women came together to create a space where they could check

in on one another. That group of

women decided to turn their collective power outward to provide mentorship, education,

and opportunities to black girls in sport and beyond. And the black women's player

collective was formed. And along with being founding members of the BWPC, Jasmine and Amani

are also focused on protecting the environment. Amani through her new job at Duke

as their athletics, climate, and sustainability coordinator. And Jasmine through her own

sustainable lifestyle brand, jazzed up. I was fortunate to sit with them and to get to know

their stories a bit better. To listen to them is to have your faith and humanity restored.

up. We have two lovely people who are doing amazing things in the women's game. They are founding

board members of the Black Women's Player Collective. They are working to advance environmental
