Part two. First casualty.

In the last episode of True Spies, journalist Toby Hondon and former CIA officer David Tyson,

explained how on the 24th of November 2001,

something was brewing at the Fortress, Kalajanghi.

There were two explosions. Two suicide bombers blew themselves up.

And at the time, it was not clear what they were doing because we had not had up to that point any suicide bombers

take any of that action. So it was not clear what was going on, but it was clear that we had no business there on the evening of 24 November.

David and his colleague had driven out to the Fort to meet their Afghan allies and interrogate Al-Qaeda prisoners.

But the explosions sent them back.

Now the next morning they're heading back in.

But just a recap, David Tyson was one of eight members of Team Alpha,

a group of CIA officers sent to Afghanistan and immediate aftermath at the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
