0:06.5	Had one who was a real monster of a kid when I taught fifth. This kid, let's call him Ray,
0:11.3	had one of those moms who refused to hold him accountable for anything. It was always
0:15.5	some other kid did it, or Ray was just protecting himself, Ray just wanted to fit in, Ray was
0:20.5	being targeted.
0:21.6	Also, she was one of those moms who'd ask Ray if he were guilty and take his no as incontestable
0:26.9	truth. She'd say, my son doesn't lie to me. Oh, really? Your kid doesn't lie. So it's just
0:32.9	your kid and Jesus. All kids lie, lady. Anyway, I had a full caseload as a special ed teacher, so I got a
0:39.9	paraprofessional, let's call him Steve. Ray hated Steve, had some kind of issue with male authority
0:46.6	figures. One day, Ray got in trouble, coming back from recess, and Steve reprimanded him verbally.
0:52.2	By the time Ray makes it to the classroom, he's saying how Steve got in his face and shouted
0:56.4	at him.
0:57.1	Nope.
0:57.8	He asks to go talk to the principal.
0:59.8	Yay!
1:00.5	Ray's gone for at least five minutes.
1:02.4	Tells the principal how Steve grabbed his arm.
1:04.9	When Mum comes in and gets him, now he's saying Steve pushed him.
1:08.6	Next day, we get a phone call. Ray's mum and grandma are coming in and
1:12.1	want a meeting with Steve and the principal to discuss how Steve choked Ray. Steve's freaking out.
1:17.8	Sure, other kids were there, but no adults and no cameras. How can he prove his innocence? I tell him,
1:23.2	go to the meeting and before anyone says anything, have Ray share what happened. Steve came back
