A lot of people struggle with unhealthy food habits, but they're not sure what to do about it. Whether you are a stress eater or you are eating for other reasons unrelated to hunger or health, this episode will help you examine your habits. As mentioned when this podcast first aired, if we learn recognize the times when we’re eating for reasons other than hunger, we can make changes. This week's episode, Food Won't Fix That Problem, was a very, very, very popular episode.

0:13.8

I got the impression that there were a lot of people who could relate.

0:17.7

Maybe you're a stress eater, or maybe you're a person who eats in sorrow, or maybe you're

0:22.6

a person who eats just to try to solve a problem. Well, I tell you, you've probably heard this saying,

0:28.7

adult children in Minnesota for 10 days, so I had the home as like the home base where they could

1:01.2

come and go and we could do things together, and I could even do home cooking if I wanted to.

1:05.9

It was a nice arrangement. But this one particular evening, it wasn't even meal time, and I wasn't hungry,

1:12.3

but I wandered into the kitchen. Have you ever done that? Can you relate? And then I found a bag of

1:17.9

chips. So I opened up the bag. I measured out a serving, sort of, because the serving size was

1:24.3

15 chips, but everybody knows broken ones don't count, right?

1:29.3

Then I needed something sweet to offset the salty.

1:33.2

So I wandered back into the kitchen and found a box of ginger cookies and took a short

1:37.9

stack of those and walked away munching.

1:40.6

Next, I opened the fridge.

1:42.4

I was in the kitchen again, and I had a wedge of sharp cheddar cheese.
