Summary

Today, we launch a new installment of The Collier Landry Show: True Crime. Thursdays or TCT (you guys know how much I love my acronyms!) will feature a new case every week that has piqued my interest! This week, it's The Case Against Karen Read. Collier and retired Massachusetts State Trooper Todd McGhee discuss The Polarizing Case Against Karen Read as it moves into its fourth week of testimony. It’s safe to say that the case against Karen Read is fraught with controversy, with a polarized Canton, MA, community rallying around both sides. Read is currently on trial for Second Degree Murder of her boyfriend, Boston PD Officer John O'Keefe. It all started on the evening of January 28, 2022, at 34 Fairview Road, a home owned by Nicole Albert and husband Brian Albert. A party had gathered there that night following a night out drinking at Waterfall Bar and Grill, nominally to celebrate Brian Albert Jr.’s 23rd birthday, to which O’Keefe and Read were both invited. By 6:03 a.m. on Jan. 29, 2022, Jennifer McCabe placed a call to 911 reporting that she, Read, and another friend named Kerry Roberts found O’Keefe’s body in the front yard. About My Guest: Todd McGhee is a retired Massachusetts State Trooper. After a successful 24-year career in public safety, he provides international training and education for the US Department of State, Office of Antiterrorism Assistance. He also contributes to mainstream media, providing insight and analysis on homeland security, active shooter, aviation security, and school security-related topics. I know a lot of you are interested in my insight, given my background, into true crime, and I'm embracing that. I feel like my perspective is unique, and I want to share that with you guys. So every Thursday, we're going to do a true crime Thursday episode, and then the regular podcast is going to come out. I can't decide whether I'm going to do on Fridays, bring it back to Fridays again instead of Saturday mornings. I don't know. I'm experimenting with the show. I appreciate you guys hanging in there with me, but it's going to get better and I'm really excited to offer more shows for you guys. So we're going to talk about the Karen Reid case today, which is something is, it's such a polarizing case for so many people. I've caught so much flack on social media just since I literally recorded the episode a few hours ago. And it's more polarizing than this other trial that's going on right now, the Trump trial.
