Summary

Diana Lundin is a commercial pet portrait photographer based in Southern California. After a successful career as a writer and editor, she embarked on a second career as a photographer. Her commissioned and personal work evokes the unique personalities of pets and the special relationship that they share with their caregivers. This summer she will be releasing her first book Dogs vs Ice Cream, a selection of over 100 portraits of a wide variety of dogs eating the tasty treat. 0:07.0	There comes a time for many photographers when they think about earning money from using a camera.
0:25.5	Some want to make it their full-time profession, while others want to earn enough to pay for their expensive hobby.
0:32.6	But the challenge can be trying to figure out what kind of photographer you want to be.
0:38.3	When Diana Lundee ended her career as a professional writer and editor,
0:43.3	that's the very question she asked herself.
0:46.3	She explored the usual avenues including headshots and children's portraiture.
0:51.3	However, it was pets that became her forte, and upon which she has built a successful business.
0:58.5	However, it didn't start as easily as you might think.
1:01.9	In 2007, I got hired to do, a woman had gotten collars and leashes for dogs, and she says,
1:09.2	can you shoot this for me? And I go, yes, I can do that.
1:13.1	You know what? No, I really couldn't. I mean, I didn't know how to work with the animals. It just
1:18.1	seemed like it would be easy. It was like saying, okay, you know, I don't even remember. Maybe I blotted
1:25.3	out. It turned out okay, but it was flopped sweat the
1:30.4	entire time. Not only has Diana enjoyed great success in her business, she will soon be releasing
1:36.7	her first book, Dogs versus Ice Cream. It consists of fun and beautiful portraits of dogs eating
1:44.1	doggy ice cream.
1:45.2	As simple as the concept sounds, the images are just amazing.
