This year has been a really good one for me photographically. I've worked hard at developing

and refining my eye. It's not been just about making a lot of photographs, but more about

being thoughtful and purposeful about how I use light and shadow, line and shape, color, and gesture.

That's been helped by my teaching, but also writing my next book, which is a follow-up to my first,

chasing the light.

I've been focused on my own process, to a degree that it's moved me beyond my own perceived
