When you look at the work of certain photographers, a strong sense of how they see the world

comes through. This is often described as style, but it often can be confused with technical

things like how they use strobes or how they post-process images in Photoshop. What I'm talking

about is more sensibility, a point of view.

This can be more difficult to discern, but we often know it when we see it. I got a sense of that

while looking at the work of Alex D. Rogers, a young photographer living and working in Atlanta, Georgia.

I came upon his images while looking through a magazine that I picked up at my local gym. His portraits of African American men really resonated with me.
