This is Ebody and X, and this is The Candid Frame.

We have interviewed hundreds of people on this show over the past decade.

Some were legends, while others were just beginning their careers.

But what they all have had in common is this idea, this dream that they wanted a life that revolved around photography.

And as you have likely heard on many episodes, their success in whatever form that took often came as a result of putting in the time, doing the work, and putting it out there.

I'm sure that every single one of them had an excuse as to why they might not succeed,

but that didn't stop them. They may not have felt ready or confident, or maybe they felt they didn't even know what the hell they were doing.

A lot of people describe luck or talent as the sole reason why many photographers have achieved what they have.

I like to think that these people chose not to believe the lies that came in the form of excuses.

They were trying to convince them that those dreams were not meant for them, but for someone

else. Anna Gunn is a photographer who has likely heard a lot of excuses as to why she shouldn't be doing what she's doing. I mean, it was

crazy to leave the UK to start a business and a new relationship in a foreign country whose

culture and language she was barely familiar with. She's even crazier believing that she could

create a photo festival with famous photographers

while having never put together such a large event in her life.

But she has and she is.

But I think I like that kind of crazy.
