Being held at the Seattle Center, the event is going to showcase a host of great photographers doing presentations, as well as manufacturers sharing their latest wares.

Street portraiture is a challenging but incredibly satisfying genre of photography for those who practice it. It's an opportunity to approach a complete stranger and introduce yourself

to their world for just a moment.

With camera in hand, you have the opportunity to produce a photograph that's hopefully beautiful,

interesting, and reveals something unexpected about them and maybe even yourself.

But it's not an easy thing to do well.

There are tens of thousands of examples online where the photographer produces an image

that really doesn't say anything, and it has nothing to do with the camera or the light or the lens.

It's just that the photographer wasn't thinking beyond simply getting the shot.
